Move, create, explore and learn music through this high-energy, exciting and fun 30-minute music and movement class with parent participation!
Music in Motion is a movement-based music curriculum introducing concepts like rhythm, melody, and harmony in a social and imaginative way. Students embody music joyfully through creative games, improvisation, and expression. The class not only focuses on creating vivid musical foundations but also supports children's emotional, intellectual, and physical development. These classes truly allow students to experience music joyfully from the inside out! This curriculum is inspired by Dalcroze Eurhythmics and is part of a musicianship sequence that leads directly to the Rhythmic Solfege curriculum Levels I-V (a leveled sequential program that specifically teaches children to become music literate and prepares them for Advanced Placement Level coursework that can be taken for college credit). |

Learn music and movement skills through rhythm, improvisation, and tonal recognition in a fun, Suzuki- and Dalcroze-inspired group piano class!
Piano Moves gives group piano lessons an integrative movement twist! Students embody music joyfully through creative games, improvisation, and expression. Using familiar songs, carefully sequenced learning pieces, and partner work, this small-group class provides students the foundation for excellent music education on the piano and beyond. Students learn rhythmic and tonal patterns, prepare for reading music, and build beginning piano vocabulary and technique in 50-minute classes. This includes 15-20 minute individually focused semi-private piano lessons each week in groups of 2-5 students. Culminating in short performances at the end of every term, Piano Moves teaches students to love performing and become lifelong musicians and movers! Piano Moves uses Integral Steps’ movement-based Music in Motion curriculum to introduce concepts like rhythm, melody, and harmony in a social and imaginative way. Each week, students receive a Music in Motion Activity Sheet to support at-home reviewing. Piano Moves prepares students to be ready for private piano instruction. It is part of a musicianship sequence that leads directly to the Rhythmic-Solfège curriculum Levels I-V (a leveled sequential program that specifically teaches children to become music literate and prepares them for Advanced Placement Level coursework that can be taken for college credit). |
