New Partnerships and Exciting New Programs
New England classes are taught by Integral Steps instructor Weronika Balewski.
Weronika believes the Arts have the power to build connection, relationships, and community. This idea is central to her work as a flutist and music educator. Weronika teaches in her private music studio, at Integral Steps, and at the Concord Conservatory of Music. Thank you to our New England partner organizations, who have welcomed Integral Steps so generously into their communities. We are also expanding the Integral Steps Scholarship Program to support students with financial needs living in New England. |
Concord Conservatory of Music Integral Steps is thrilled to partner with the Concord Conservatory of Music, a nonprofit community music school which shares our mission of fostering creativity, improvisation, and personal expression through music. Piano Moves (Ages 4-6)
Piano Moves
Learn music and movement skills through rhythm, improvisation, and tonal recognition in a fun, Suzuki- and Dalcroze-inspired group piano class! Piano Moves gives group piano lessons an integrative movement twist! Students embody music joyfully through creative games, improvisation, and expression. Using familiar songs, carefully sequenced learning pieces, and partner work, this small-group class provides students the foundation for excellent music education on the piano and beyond. Students learn rhythmic and tonal patterns, prepare for reading music, and build beginning piano vocabulary and technique in 50-minute classes. This includes 15-20 minute individually focused semi-private piano lessons each week in groups of 2-5 students. Culminating in short performances at the end of every term, Piano Moves teaches students to love performing and become lifelong musicians and movers! Rhythmic-Solfège II (AGES 10-14)
Rhythmic-Solfège II
Rhythmic-Solfège is a sequential program with levels I-V that provides all of the necessary building blocks to achieve success with any instrument. It specifically teaches children to become music literate, preparing them for Advanced Placement Level coursework that can be taken for college credit. Taught by certified and licensed Dalcroze instructors, Rhythmic-Solfège builds on the principle of learning music through movement with the addition of focused musical study on keyboard percussion. A process-oriented program, it uses the Dalcrozian principles of joy, discovery and experiential education as its foundation, and delves comprehensively into musical subjects and music literature. Rhythmic-Solfège builds upon skills developed in Music in Motion, and is designed to increase coordination, spatial awareness, flexibility, focus, emotional knowledge, and vocal precision. The curriculum can be adjusted depending on age level and past musical experience; students who are older or have prior musical experience should discuss this with the instructor to ensure they are placed in the right level of Rhythmic-Solfège. |
