Ages 3-6 In-Person only Is your child inquisitive about the world around them? Inspire them with a rich combination of Spanish through Art combined with our curriculum inspired by Dalcroze Eurhythmics - a playful approach to learning music through rhythmic motions, ear-training, and improvisation. Each class is divided into two parts: one kinesthetically based, exploring music through the joy of movement, and the other integrating learning Spanish through the expression of art. Music in Motion
Ages 3-7 In-Person Move, dance, explore, learn! Music in Motion is a movement-based music curriculum introducing concepts like rhythm, melody, and harmony in a social and imaginative way. This curriculum is inspired by Dalcroze Eurhythmics and is part of a musicianship sequence that students can continue through age 14. Note: Music in Motion can form a part of an integrated class with either Spanish and Art, or Piano Moves. Some students may be ready for more concentrated musical studies in Rhythmic Solfège. |

Rhythmic Solfège I-V
Ages 6-15 In-Person with Online Option The Dalcroze Rhythmic- Solfège sequence provides all of the necessary building blocks to achieve success with any instrument. Rhythmic Solfège builds on the principles of learning music through movement with the addition of focused musical study on keyboard percussion; the end goal of the sequence is comprehensive musicianship! This is a process-oriented program using the Dalcrozian tenants of joy, discovery and experiential education as its foundation, and delving into musical subjects and literature. Assignments on a keyboard percussion instrument and homework are a regular part of the curriculum. A commitment from both parent and child to practice together at least 10 minutes each day, 5 days each week is expected. We are grateful to The Dalcroze School of the Rockies for providing their curriculum for all of our Rhythmic Solfège classes. www.dalcrozeschooloftherockies.com Suzuki Piano: Instrumental Add-On
Ages 6-12 In-person only Suzuki Piano is an add-on to the Rhythmic Solfège Sequence, where students apply the theory and musicality they're learning in Rhythmic Solfège to learning piano! In Dalcroze Eurhythmics, we focus on developing the first instrument, the body, in order to facilitate ease at our musical instruments, which are just an extension of our bodies. In the Suzuki pedagogy and philosophy, Dr. Suzuki points out that every child posses a high potentiality that can be developed through education. Music is a language, and if we fill our lives with this language, just like our mother-tongue language, we can become experts in the language of music. Suzuki Piano I students must be concurrently enrolled in Rhythmic Solfège I or II. |
